The Byzantine Chainmaille Pattern through history has also been known as Birdcage, Fool's Dilemma, or Idiot's Box. You'll know it as beautifully fabulous--in three different sizes and two finishes!

To make chainmaille, a bunch of
little jump rings are needed. I
started with sterling silver and
wound it around
rods into a spring.
Using a saw, I cut
the springs down the side and bazillions of jump rings were born.
With a pair of pliers in each hand,
I opened, weaved, and closed every jump
ring one-by-one into the Byzantine chainmaille pattern.
By using different-sized wires and
various-sized rings, the same pattern
can have a different look. That’s why
the Byzantine chainmaille bracelets
are offered up in three different
widths/weights:
sleek: 3/16 inch (5mm)
strong: 1/4 inch (6mm)
substantial: 5/16 inch (8mm) If you like things on the dark side, select the blackened
finish. Your Byzantine chainmaille bracelet will be oxidized
to give it a dark, steely-blue/black look. It’s also an
excellent option if you’re not into shining your silver. Unless
the blackened option is selected, your bracelet will come in
a shiny silver finish.

About Chainmaille:
Chainmaille (also chainmail or chain mail) is the ancient art
of linking small metal rings in a pattern.
